With a little luck, Los Illuminados's Adalberto Hames got control of the ball when Bruninho Moreno tried to sneak it across the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, João Vítor Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garganta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Illuminados the free kick. After a rather tough play, Garganta's João Vítor Perez got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 10 played minutes Garganta got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei Moreno. In the 11th minute, João Vítor Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Garganta getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. João Vítor Perez hit a great ball. Michel Andrade struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Edvaldo Siqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Illuminados. Vinícius Grandis's late challenge caught a Garganta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vinícius Grandis helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Los Illuminados getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Vinícius Grandis hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruninho Moreno got free with Adalberto Hames in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the match, Garganta's Vágner Cordeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adalberto Hames narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Los Illuminados's Waldir Penha in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Garganta's goalie prevented a goal. Waldir Penha succeeded in the game's 41st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Waldir Penha to strike the kick off in the second half. Adalberto Hames showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruninho Moreno in the 51st minute of the match. Waldir Penha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Edvaldo Siqueira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Edvaldo Siqueira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michel Andrade went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Los Illuminados's Roger Vidal got a free kick in the 60th minute. Edvaldo Siqueira was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Fernando Torres capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fernando Torres really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Edvaldo Siqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldir Penha in the 67th minute of the match. Edvaldo Siqueira came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Illuminados's Michel Andrade. But to his dismay, Michel Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. If Michel Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Edvaldo Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 78 played minutes Garganta got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Vides. In the 79th minute, Carlos do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edvaldo Siqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wellington de Medeiros during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Los Illuminados getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Wellington de Medeiros hit a great ball. Adalberto Hames made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruninho Moreno in the 89th minute of play. After 90 minutes, Vágner Cordeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garganta and the Los Illuminados players grew even worse after the yellow card. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Edvaldo Siqueira successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Michel Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Illuminados's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
