Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Pauliceia's Jerônimo Marinho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo Marinho in the 6th minute of play forced Bodega's goalkeeper Arthur das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eurico Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Bodega's Igor Botelho got a free kick in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Jerônimo Marinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Arthur das Neves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Telmo Mattos hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the match, Pauliceia's goalkeeper Romeu Marquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduardo Alves. Jerônimo Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur das Neves having to interfere. Arthur das Neves came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Pauliceia's Eurico Barros. But to his dismay, Eurico Barros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Telmo Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Arthur das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Barros in the 26th minute of play. Eduardo Alves took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romeu Marquez. Romeu Marquez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. After having played for 38 minutes, Eurico Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pauliceia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eurico Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Pauliceia's Jerônimo Marinho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arthur das Neves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Percy de Andrade to make the kick off. Pauliceia's Jerônimo Marinho got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Eurico Barros came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Pauliceia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eurico Barros couldn't finish the play. Percy de Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Bodega getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Cléber Vergílio hit a great ball. Romeu Marquez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Percy de Andrade's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Arthur das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerônimo Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Eurico Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Arthur das Neves made a huge save. Pauliceia's Romeu Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Percy de Andrade in the 88th minute of play. Romeu Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Alves in the 90th minute of the match. Percy de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeu Marquez having to interfere.
