In the 6th match minute, Peabiru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Neto to maneuver through the defense. Adolfo Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilson Neto having to interfere. Agenor Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilson Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Pimenta in the 17th minute of the match. Luciano Vianna acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 27th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Didi Ceresso. If Igor Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 32 minutes, Pedrão Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peabiru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrão Alvarenga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 33 minutes, Luiz Fábio Corrêa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Várzea Memo and the Peabiru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luiz Fábio Corrêa kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. When Adolfo Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Várzea Memo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adolfo Pimenta couldn't finish the play. After 38 minutes, Nuno Linhares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peabiru and the Várzea Memo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Peabiru fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! Diego Ferreira walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Agenor Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilson Neto having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Igor Coelho to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Peabiru got a freekick which was hit by Igor Coelho. After 56 played minutes Várzea Memo got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Pimenta. If Agenor Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 played minutes Agenor Teles rounded Peabiru's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. A collision led to Várzea Memo getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Amadeu Alcântara hit a great ball. After 73 played minutes Várzea Memo got a freekick which was hit by Allan Mota. Oséias Urbano, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Gilson Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luciano Vianna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Coelho in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Várzea Memo's Luiz Fábio Corrêa got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 88th minute, Adolfo Pimenta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Várzea Memo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. If Agenor Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Peabiru's zone, Agenor Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilson Neto came out of the goal and Agenor Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Várzea Memo played a much better game than Peabiru and deserved their victory. The Peabiru players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
