After having played for 22 minutes, Danilo Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ATLETICO-RS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ATLETICO-RS's Alfredão Valladares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save ATLETICO-RS from getting a goal against them. Rômulo Velasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Alfredão Valladares made a huge save. Waldemar Valladares hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rômulo Velasco got free with Alfredão Valladares in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute, Waldemar Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Gonçalo Coelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute, Wilson Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gonçalo Coelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. João Carlos Batista was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Waldemar Valladares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Waldemar Valladares really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. In the 59th minute, Christiano Dracena made a precise shot to the right of Alfredão Valladares. ATLETICO-RS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. If Belmiro Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Ijui's goalkeeper João Carlos Batista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Danilo Reis. João Carlos Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Valladares in the 64th minute of play. Gonçalo Coelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredão Valladares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Coelho in the 70th minute of the match. Alfredão Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After 73 played minutes ATLETICO-RS got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Valladares. After 77 played minutes Ijui got a freekick which was hit by José Maria Prata. Danilo Reis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 82nd playminute. ATLETICO-RS's Alfredão Valladares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Velasco in the 94th minute of play. Alfredão Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Coelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldemar Valladares hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. In the 98th minute Gonçalo Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredão Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ATLETICO-RS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
