Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Brete's Luisinho Massa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Pocoes SS's goal looked a bit too open when Luisinho Massa came free, but Cláudio Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 4 minutes, Eliézer de Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pocoes SS and the Brete players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eliézer de Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Luisinho Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Fontes having to interfere. Basílio Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Cláudio Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cláudio Fontes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basílio Gonçalves in the 13th minute. When Luisinho Massa came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Brete fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisinho Massa couldn't finish the play. Cláudio Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Massa in the 20th minute of play. Emerson da Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emerson da Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kléberson de Medeiros hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Basílio Gonçalves placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! A collision led to Pocoes SS getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Zézinho Monteiro hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The wind increased when Dionísio Valladares made the kick off in the second half. Basílio Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Fontes having to interfere. When Basílio Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Brete fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute, Luisinho Massa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brete fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. André Luiz Mello kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Basílio Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luisinho Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cláudio Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Basílio Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basílio Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Fontes having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Brete's goalkeeper Agnaldo Furtado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dadá Neves. When Kléberson de Medeiros was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. After 86 played minutes Pocoes SS got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson de Medeiros. A collision led to Pocoes SS getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Dionísio Valladares hit a great ball. Cláudio Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisinho Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Luiz Mello hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pocoes SS's zone, Luisinho Massa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Fontes came out of the goal and Luisinho Massa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute Basílio Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brete's Luisinho Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brete were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
