But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fellipe Neves couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Baturite EC's Gustavo Recife got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 34th match minute, Castores F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto Chaves to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Baturite EC's Dedê Dias got control of the ball when Leonel Catarinense tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 39 minutes, Elano Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baturite EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elano Madureira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Castores F.C's Aírton Lopez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Vides in the 42nd minute of play. Elano Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marcus Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 minutes, Aloísio Vidal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castores F.C and the Baturite EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aloísio Vidal hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fellipe Neves to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Afonso Leme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Marcus Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcus Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Lopez having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Marcus Vides's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aírton Lopez was relentless in the 81st minute of the game.
