Durval Matos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd match minute, Maniassu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durval Matos to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Bastos shot from long distance in the 4th minute, but Magno Recife was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. When Ibirucucu's Jarbas Torres in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maniassu's goalie prevented a goal. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibirucucu's goalkeeper Gilvan de Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilvan de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duda Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Roger Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, José Maria Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Maniassu's zone, Jarbas Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magno Recife came out of the goal and Jarbas Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Maria Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jarbas Torres to make the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Jarbas Torres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maniassu's Magno Recife was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Maniassu:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ibirucucu:s goal. When Jarbas Torres came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Ibirucucu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jarbas Torres couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute José Maria Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magno Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ibirucucu's Júlio Nunes got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute, Maniassu's Duda Hoffmann dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. In the 66th minute, Jarbas Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilvan de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Duda Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Gilvan de Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Magno Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 80th minute José Maria Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magno Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Maria Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magno Recife having to interfere. A collision led to Maniassu getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Maurício Gaspar hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Jarbas Torres made a precise shot to the right of Magno Recife. Maniassu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. José Maria Dias might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Magno Recife. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Maria Dias ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the Ibirucucu players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
