Arnaldo Chaves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Luís Fábio Varela made a huge save. Luís Fábio Varela made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Arnaldo Chaves sent off a good shot on target. Canindezinho AD's Luís Fábio Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho Viana in the 21st minute of play. Arnaldo Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Varela having to interfere. Canindezinho AD's Luís Fábio Varela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Canindezinho AD from getting a goal against them. Arnaldo Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Luís Fábio Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canindezinho AD's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Varela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Canindezinho AD getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Tiaguinho Valadares hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Arnaldo Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moacir's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Chaves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Fábio Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Canindezinho AD's zone, Arnaldo Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Fábio Varela came out of the goal and Arnaldo Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zézinho Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Luís Fábio Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zézinho Viana to make the kick off. Dênis Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, Canindezinho AD's Rafa Fantini broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Arnaldo Chaves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Fábio Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After having played for 62 minutes, Zézinho Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moacir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zézinho Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Canindezinho AD's Luís Fábio Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho Viana in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Marcinho Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Adolfo do Vale made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Zé Carlos de Souza sent off a good shot on target. Zézinho Viana might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fábio Varela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zézinho Viana ran back to his position shaking his head. Zézinho Viana struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Luís Fábio Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moacir. Luís Fábio Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zézinho Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Canindezinho AD's Luís Fábio Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho Viana in the 92nd minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, Moacir's Arnaldo Chaves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Fábio Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Moacir fully deserved thier win.
