After 10 played minutes Franca got a freekick which was hit by Luís Guilherme da Fonseca. After having played for 17 minutes, Marcos Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Franca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Franca's Guto Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evandro de Azevedo in the 20th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Germano Vale during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 22 played minutes Franca got a freekick which was hit by Germano Vale. After having played for 27 minutes, Caco Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Franca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caco Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Aarão Zwinglio getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Vitinho Trancoso hit a great ball. Caco Pires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erivaldo Branco having to make a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geovani Gerber to strike the kick off in the second half. Franca's Luís Guilherme da Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adrianinho de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Evandro de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Guto Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcos Gonçalves scored 2-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erivaldo Branco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 67 minutes into the game, Franca's Caco Pires nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erivaldo Branco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 71stth minute of the game Caco Pires who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aarão Zwinglio's Erivaldo Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Erivaldo Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovani Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Abreu having to interfere. The supporters of Aarão Zwinglio booed when Franca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulinho de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Caco Pires left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Franca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Cauã Velloso hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Geovani Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Franca had won after a very even match.
