But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josué Freire couldn't finish the play. Kauan Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuel Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Freire in the 37th minute of play. If Michel de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaburuzinho FC's Josué Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samuel Pirani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel de Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute, Cesinha Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claretiana's Samuel Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Freire in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Jaburuzinho FC's Michel de Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Michel de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Samuel Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Claretiana's Samuel Pirani got control of the ball when Joaquim Eger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Josué Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michel de Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Michel de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alessandro de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauan Pinho having to interfere. Claretiana's Samuel Pirani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Claretiana from getting a goal against them. In the 96th minute, Michel de Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
