With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diego Nogueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Baldomero Guzman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diego Nogueira was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When Breno Soares fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Schalke04jpa's protests and gave Breno Soares a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Schalke04jpa getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Breno Soares hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Baldomero Guzman took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Diego Nogueira to make any attempt to save it. In the 44th minute, Luiz Paulo Motta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Nogueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baldomero Guzman's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baldomero Guzman to make the kick off. Baldomero Guzman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fausto Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Waldemar Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 78 minutes on the clock, Radomil Damazki commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 77th minute, one of Unidos Futebol Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Unidos Futebol Clube. Waldemar Eger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute Fausto Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Eger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Cruz in the 89th minute of play forced Unidos Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Waldemar Eger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Unidos Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Válter Leite hit a great ball. 90 minutes into the match, Unidos Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Cruz came free, but Waldemar Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Quirino in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Waldemar Eger, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
