Jefferson Lopez charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jefferson Lopez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Schalke04jpa getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Jefferson Lopez hit a great ball. When Muricizal's Joel Lucas in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Schalke04jpa's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Cruz in the 9th minute of play forced Muricizal's goalkeeper José Augusto Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Schalke04jpa's goalkeeper Diego Nogueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alex Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Diego Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Muricizal's Alex Viana in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Schalke04jpa's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Muricizal defense, Jairo Quirino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Augusto Carneiro. The Muricizal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Augusto Carneiro should have stopped the shot. Alex Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Nogueira having to interfere. Fausto Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fausto Cruz to make the kick off. Fausto Cruz got in the 54th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but José Augusto Carneiro handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Dênis Recife's late challenge caught a Schalke04jpa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dênis Recife helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Schalke04jpa booed when Muricizal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dênis Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Cruz in the 60th minute of play forced Muricizal's goalkeeper José Augusto Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alex Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Schalke04jpa's Diego Nogueira got control of the ball when Alex Viana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Breno Soares hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Diego Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Lucas in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Fausto Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leopoldo Lira charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Lira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Schalke04jpa's Leopoldo Lira got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Alex Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute.
