Frigorifico SC's Nelsinho Matos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 5th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luisão de Toledo but with some difficulty. In the 7th minute of the match Caetano Nóbrega sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cesinha Abraão skillfully saved the ball. Cesinha Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dida Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Frigorifico SC's Cesinha Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Barral in the 12th minute of play. Cesinha Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dida Barral in the 13th minute of the match. If Gilson Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilson Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the game, Combuti's Dida Barral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesinha Abraão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 26th minute of the match, Gilson Porto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luisão de Toledo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Manolo Hames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tibúrcio Cosme hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute Gilson Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, one of Combuti:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Combuti. In the 43rd minute of the match Delfim Netto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cesinha Abraão skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Frigorifico SC booed when Combuti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Luisão de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Porto in the 54th minute of play. Luisão de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 minutes, Francisco Pernambucano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Combuti and the Frigorifico SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Combuti:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Frigorifico SC:s goal. Luisão de Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manolo Hames, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The audience was convinced that Gilson Porto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luisão de Toledo was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Luisão de Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manolo Hames's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Gilson Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Luisão de Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisão de Toledo came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Frigorifico SC's Manolo Hames. But to his dismay, Manolo Hames quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. If Dida Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dida Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesinha Abraão having to interfere. When Gilson Porto came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Frigorifico SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilson Porto couldn't finish the play. 96 minutes into the match, Frigorifico SC's Gilson Porto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luisão de Toledo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Frigorifico SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Combuti had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
