Chico Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Jonathan Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Tiririca SC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Bruninho Alvarenga hit a great ball. Jonathan Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Arruda in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Congonhinhas's Percival Arantes got a free kick in the 9th minute. Congonhinhas's Andrézinho Alagoano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Congonhinhas from getting a goal against them. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tiririca SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Congonhinhas a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Roger Vianna, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tiririca SC's Jonathan Carioca. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Tiririca SC's Albertino Hoffmann got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute Percival Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Percival Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Tiririca SC's Téo Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Percival Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Percival Arantes got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. João Carlos de Souza took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Andrézinho Alagoano. Congonhinhas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Chico Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Congonhinhas booed when Tiririca SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Congonhinhas's Percival Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chico Arrudas short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Jonathan Carioca to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Percival Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Percival Arantes had several of the Tiririca SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 82 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Jonathan Carioca as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a defensive mix-up in Congonhinhas's zone, Durval Barral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrézinho Alagoano came out of the goal and Durval Barral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruninho Alvarenga's late challenge caught a Congonhinhas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruninho Alvarenga helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tiririca SC's Bruninho Alvarenga got a free kick in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Percival Arantes in the 97th minute of play forced Tiririca SC's goalkeeper Jonathan Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Tiririca SC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Congonhinhas were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
