After a defensive mix-up in Sapecada's zone, Gildo Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Hermes came out of the goal and Gildo Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Carlos Augusto Messias came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Situacao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Augusto Messias couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Cardoso in the 19th minute of play forced Sapecada's goalkeeper Eusébio Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Situacao. Erivaldo Marques stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eusébio Hermes. 1-1. Agostinho Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Tavares in the 26th minute of play. Kauã Moura hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Ediberto Lima came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Sapecada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ediberto Lima couldn't finish the play. Agostinho Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When Situacao's Carlos Augusto Messias in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Tavares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kauã Moura came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eusébio Hermes could save by the left post. In the 54th minute, Júlio Cardoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Situacao's Carlos Augusto Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute Júlio Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, one of Sapecada:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 69 minutes, Situacao's Erivaldo Marques got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eusébio Hermes. Carlos Augusto Messias came free with the goalkeeper in the 76th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eusébio Hermes could save by the left post. In the 82nd minute Júlio Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Situacao players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
