When Dorival da Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Jaguariaiva fans jumped to their feet. Afonsinho Mendes came out of the goal and Dorival da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Jaguariaiva booed when Coaticaba EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball.
The wind increased when Fernandinho Esteves made the kick off in the second half. When Marcel Duarte fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jaguariaiva's protests and gave Marcel Duarte a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th minute, Marcel Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
