In the 17thth minute of the game Rubens Miranda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esteirao's Henrique da Cunha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Emboscada's Rubens Miranda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henrique da Cunha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Gustavo Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ricardo Galvão took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dedê Simão. Dedê Simão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Esteirao! Hugo Paranaense's late challenge caught a Emboscada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Paranaense helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, Esteirao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. Esteirao's Henrique da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Miranda in the 73rd minute of play.
