In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pompeo EC's goalkeeper Alfredo Penha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Pompeo EC's Yuri Alagoano got a free kick in the 12th minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Álvaro Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edgard de Azevedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Sílvio Luís Abraão made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Alfredo Penha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emílio Aguiar in the 54th minute. Alfredo Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iuri Simões in the 58th minute of play. Sílvio Luís Abraão was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Pompeo EC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Álvaro Matorin hit a great ball. In the 71st minute, José Vítor Sabóia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sílvio Luís Abraão was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 74 minutes in the game, Leonel Marques fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alfredo Penha having to interfere. Sílvio Luís Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard de Azevedo in the 76th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emílio Aguiar got free with Alfredo Penha in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edgard de Azevedo scored 3-1 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sílvio Luís Abraão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pompeo EC had won after a very even match.
