The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, Diadema FC's goalkeeper Rafa Lira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Campidelis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademar Furlan in the 15th minute of play forced Palmelas's goalkeeper Paulo Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Rafa Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmir Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walmir Campidelis got free with Rafa Lira in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amílton Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafa Lira made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Walmir Campidelis sent off a good shot on target. If Walmir Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafa Lira had great luck who in the 44thth minute grab hold of the ball when Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 47 minutes into the match, Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rafa Lira, 3-0.

53 minutes into the match, Palmelas's goal looked a bit too open when Amílton Cavalcante came free, but Paulo Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Diadema FC's Amílton Cavalcante sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulo Pimenta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Amílton Cavalcante came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Diadema FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amílton Cavalcante couldn't finish the play. Walmir Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Rafa Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafa Lira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Walmir Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Rafa Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmir Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Lira having to interfere. In the 70thth minute of the game Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diadema FC's Rafa Lira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafa Lira. Diadema FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Rafa Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho in the 75th minute of play. After 79 minutes of play, Palmelas's Walmir Campidelis made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafa Lira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rafa Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Eduardo Gaúcho in the 91st minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Walmir Campidelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Diadema FC defense, Walmir Campidelis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafa Lira. The Diadema FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafa Lira should have stopped the shot. Palmelas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
