Reginaldo Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Remo Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luisinho Carioca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reginaldo Leal's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamim Barral in the 30th minute of play forced Maristella SS's goalkeeper Luisinho Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remo Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisinho Carioca having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Erik Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adalberto Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Terezina got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Leal. Maristella SS's Erik Neves couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Terezina. Terezina's Basílio Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Terra in the 44th minute of play. Remo Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisinho Carioca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remo Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

It was a penalty for Maristella SS! 81 minutes into the match, Terezina's Reginaldo Leal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luisinho Carioca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 85 minutes of play, Terezina's Reginaldo Leal made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luisinho Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Allan Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Basílio Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Percival Paes hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Terezina eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
