Barcarena's Jefferson Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Régis de Brito in the 35th minute of play. Gino Freitas in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Leonardo Sousa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Perez got free with Leonardo Sousa in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Maurício Damião made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Maurício Damião got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kléber Abraão during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 played minutes Sabugueiro got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Abraão. Gino Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Sousa having to interfere. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Barcarena! The goalkeeper, Jefferson Mendonça, was totally fooled by Sabugueiro's Fernandão de Castro, who 91 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Barcarena fully deserved thier win.
