After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Egídio Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papary's supporters rose to their feet, but Egídio Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eurico de Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egídio Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rodriguinho de Castro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Cristian Ramalho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Papary's Cristian Ramalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodriguinho de Castro in the 55th minute of play. Cristian Ramalho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodriguinho de Castro went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Papary's Cristian Ramalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Papary from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Papary's zone, Rodriguinho de Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Ramalho came out of the goal and Rodriguinho de Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Rodriguinho de Castro could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Cristian Ramalho however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 80 minutes, Rodriguinho de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodriguinho de Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fred Mota took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristian Ramalho. Cristian Ramalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Papary's zone, Marcelo Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Ramalho came out of the goal and Marcelo Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute of the match Luiz Fabiano da Rocha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristian Ramalho skillfully saved the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Alessandro Pernambucano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Balao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Papary the free kick. After a rather tough play, Balao's Alessandro Pernambucano got a free kick in the 94th minute.
