After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Geovani Linhares got a free kick in the 80th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paulo Moura in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kiko Barros saved Botuquara from getting behind. 89 minutes into the match, Botuquara's Faustão Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabinho de Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
