Abelardo Mumbach started the match with the kick off. Toninho Hames made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Mumbach in the 6th minute of play. Jairo Cunha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Toninho Hames having to make a save. Jairo Cunha struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Toninho Hames didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tabai SS. If Gugu Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cássio Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michel Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. José Augusto Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Cássio Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Tabai SS's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Antunes came free, but José Augusto Arantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Raúl Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute Abelardo Mumbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho Hames saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Cunha in the 43rd minute of play forced Cabaceiras's goalkeeper Toninho Hames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Cabaceiras players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tabai SS were winning 0-2.

Cássio Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Augusto Arantes having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Gugu Secco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Augusto Arantes. Tabai SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gugu Secco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Tabai SS's José Augusto Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Antunes in the 60th minute of play. Cabaceiras's Gugu Secco got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the game, Cássio Antunes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. José Augusto Arantes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 72nd minute, Luiz Guilherme Esteves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vladimir da Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Toninho Hames. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vladimir da Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th minute Manfredo Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho Hames saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jairo Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manfredo Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Cabaceiras's goalkeeper Toninho Hames had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jairo Cunha. José Augusto Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gugu Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Luís Gustavo Saraiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
