Orlando Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Cardoso in the 43rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Taubate FC's zone, Waldemar Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Percy Cordeiro to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Percy Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdomiro Rosado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Taubate FC's Orlando Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Taubate FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enio Mendonça in the 76th minute of play forced Taubate FC's goalkeeper Orlando Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delfim Negri's late challenge caught a Taubate FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delfim Negri helped the player get up and apologised. Zézinho Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. After a rather tough play, Taubate FC's Samuel Bueno got a free kick in the 91st minute. Zézinho Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diguinho Neiva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdomiro Rosado having to make a save. In the 96th match minute, Holofote was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enio Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle, Taubate FC could leave the field as winners, despite Holofote having more of the ball for most of the match.
