After a rather tough play, Cajoby SS's Márcio de Andrade got a free kick in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Maciel in the 10th minute of play forced Cajoby SS's goalkeeper Teodoro Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Murilo Tasso fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goialina's protests and gave Murilo Tasso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th match minute, Goialina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Márcio de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Luiz Guilherme Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Christiano Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio de Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cajoby SS's Luiz Guilherme Mendonça in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goialina's goalie prevented a goal. Alexandre Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Pimenta having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Goialina's Ismael Sanches got a free kick in the 30th minute. After 31 played minutes Goialina got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Velasco. In the 32nd minute of the match João Paulo Leal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christiano Maia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alexandre Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alexandre Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Paulo Leal's late challenge caught a Goialina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Paulo Leal helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes Cajoby SS got a freekick which was hit by João Paulo Leal. Goialina's Acácio Brasil couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cajoby SS. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Márcio de Andrade made the kick off in the second half. Christiano Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márcio de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After 55 minutes of play, Goialina's Alexandre Maciel made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teodoro Pimenta was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Alexandre Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the game, Goialina's Alexandre Maciel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teodoro Pimenta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Alexandre Maciel might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodoro Pimenta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Maciel ran back to his position shaking his head. Alexandre Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Pimenta having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Paulo José do Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexandre Maciel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Cajoby SS booed when Goialina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Maciel in the 82nd minute of play forced Cajoby SS's goalkeeper Teodoro Pimenta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Didi de Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Goialina getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Murilo Tasso hit a great ball. Cajoby SS's Teodoro Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Maciel in the 92nd minute of play. After 94 played minutes Cajoby SS got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Carioca. Alexandre Trigo might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teodoro Pimenta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Trigo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the Goialina players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
