With a little luck, Sauraura SC's Didi Dantas got control of the ball when Matheus Arruda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caio Freitas might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Didi Dantas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caio Freitas ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Sauraura SC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Narciso Lago hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christiano Paraense in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dráusio Paes saved Flamengo from getting behind. In the 24th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbson da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. Dráusio Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Sauraura SC's goal looked a bit too open when Caio Freitas came free, but Didi Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomás Munhoz might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Didi Dantas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thomás Munhoz ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Sauraura SC booed when Flamengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbson da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Sauraura SC's goalkeeper Didi Dantas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thomás Munhoz. Caio Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Didi Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomás Munhoz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caio Freitas struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Didi Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flamengo. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Caio Freitas made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caio Freitas in the 53rd minute of play forced Sauraura SC's goalkeeper Didi Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Caio Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didi Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 57 minutes, José Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sauraura SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbson da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the game, Thomás Munhoz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Didi Dantas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 74th minute Matheus Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didi Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caio Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 77 played minutes Sauraura SC got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Lago. In the 78th minute, Caio Freitas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flamengo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Didi Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomás Munhoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 88 minutes into the match, Sauraura SC's goal looked a bit too open when Thomás Munhoz came free, but Didi Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Flamengo's Caio Freitas in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sauraura SC's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 91 minutes, Caio Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flamengo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
