In the 6th minute, Ramiro Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rucinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, Rucinho's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Borges came free, but João Paulo Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramiro Baptista struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Hélder de Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rucinho. Délio Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Ramiro Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rucinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramiro Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélder de Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ramiro Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ramiro Baptista in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hélder de Carvalho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hélder de Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Vieira in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Posses's Zé Carlos Maranhense got a free kick in the 34th minute. Posses's Délio Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hélder de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Ramiro Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ramiro Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Posses's zone, Ramiro Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder de Carvalho came out of the goal and Ramiro Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ramiro Baptista made the kick off in the second half. Ricardinho Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. João Paulo Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ramiro Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the game, Felippe Barbosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Posses's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rucinho the free kick. Posses's Hélder de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Carneiro in the 63rd minute of play. Délio Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Paulo Cavalcante having to interfere. When Rucinho's Ramiro Baptista in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Posses's goalie prevented a goal. In the 71st match minute, Posses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Alberto Fantini to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 72 minutes, Jonas Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rucinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonas Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélder de Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonas Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. Posses's Hélder de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Carneiro in the 84th minute of play. Ramiro Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Hélder de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rucinho's João Paulo Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardinho Borges in the 91st minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Posses players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Rucinho.
