Sérgio Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Arósio having to interfere. When Toninho Soeiro came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Muricoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho Soeiro couldn't finish the play. Sandrinho de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Soeiro in the 8th minute of play. If Toninho Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Pedro Albuquerque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 21st minute, Toninho Soeiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sandrinho de Godoi. The goal made the score 1-0. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toninho Soeiro to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Toninho Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muricoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Soeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Itaroquem's Roger Garcia got a free kick in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Soeiro in the 59th minute of play forced Itaroquem's goalkeeper Sandrinho de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Itaroquem's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Diniz came free, but Sandrinho de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 62 minutes, Léo Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandrinho de Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Soeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Itaroquem's zone, Luizinho Diniz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandrinho de Godoi came out of the goal and Luizinho Diniz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandrinho de Godoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toninho Soeiro went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Itaroquem's goalkeeper Sandrinho de Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 93rd minute, Léo Terra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 96 minutes into the game, Léo Terra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Faustão Arósio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
