Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Gustavo de Carvalho started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Dalmo do Vale came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Pumas's Gustavo de Carvalho. But to his dismay, Gustavo de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Gustavo de Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Dalmo do Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pumas. With his leg Sidnei Araújo managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Cafuca SS's Isaltino Meira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bebeto Soeiro in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sidnei Araújo saved Pumas from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Cafuca SS's Sidnei Araújo threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bebeto Soeiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Pumas's Sidnei Araújo got control of the ball when Isaltino Meira tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Isaltino Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the game, Roger Queirós was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pumas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cafuca SS the free kick. Sidnei Araújo made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Isaltino Meira sent off a good shot on target. In the 45thth minute of the game Bebeto Soeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pumas's Sidnei Araújo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hamílton Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo do Vale having to interfere. After the first half Pumas were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bebeto Soeiro to make the kick off. Pumas's Sidnei Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Soeiro in the 53rd minute of play. Aloísio Magalhães's late challenge caught a Cafuca SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aloísio Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pumas's Aloísio Magalhães got a free kick in the 54th minute. Cássio Pereira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sidnei Araújo. Pumas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Pumas's Sidnei Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaltino Meira in the 57th minute of play. Bebeto Soeiro scored 1-2 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sidnei Araújo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 63rd minute, Isaltino Meira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cafuca SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The supporters of Pumas booed when Cafuca SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bebeto Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Araújo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Soeiro in the 72nd minute of play forced Pumas's goalkeeper Sidnei Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sidnei Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaltino Meira in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute Isaltino Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidnei Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaltino Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Araújo having to interfere. Gustavo de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmo do Vale having to interfere.
