The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Murillo Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé Pombal in the 4th minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, Vassoura's goal looked a bit too open when Dé Pombal came free, but Murillo Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dé Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Murillo Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dé Pombal in the 9th minute of play. Vassoura's Murillo Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Ribeiro in the 11th minute of play. Murillo Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dé Pombal in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Bocoroca SS's Dé Pombal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Murillo Abreu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 24th minute Jonathan Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murillo Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bocoroca SS's Dé Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bocoroca SS's Jonathan Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Murillo Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Ribeiro in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vassoura's Ernani Ortiz got a free kick in the 31st minute. Jonathan Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ramiro Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dé Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Bocoroca SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dé Pombal couldn't finish the play. Murillo Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Edinho Lara charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edinho Lara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 54th minute, Edinho Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Vassoura's Fabrício da Rocha tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Jonathan Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé Pombal in the 73rd minute of play forced Vassoura's goalkeeper Murillo Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chico Sena hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Murillo Abreu was a little too slow when Renato de Carvalho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 0-1. After having played for 87 minutes, Dé Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bocoroca SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dé Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 92 minutes, Chico Sena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bocoroca SS and the Vassoura players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Bocoroca SS's Chico Sena got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The supporters of Vassoura booed when Bocoroca SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bocoroca SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
