Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Alberto Medeiros came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by EC Salvador's Hermínio de Alcântara. But to his dismay, Hermínio de Alcântara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Sílvio Luiz Neves struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Alberto Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EC Salvador. After a defensive mix-up in Ipane AD's zone, Tony Mangueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Medeiros came out of the goal and Tony Mangueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hugo Vianna charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugo Vianna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 played minutes EC Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Vianna. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Donato in the 19th minute of play forced EC Salvador's goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Mangueira scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Medeiros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 23 minutes, Francisco Koehler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ipane AD and the EC Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Francisco Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. José Pedro de Godoy was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 27 minutes into the match. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for EC Salvador! After 31 played minutes EC Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Hermínio de Alcântara. After a defensive mix-up in Ipane AD's zone, Frédson Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Medeiros came out of the goal and Frédson Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. EC Salvador's Hermínio de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Donato in the 48th minute of play forced EC Salvador's goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frédson Cruz was the one to do the kick off. Anísio Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Mathias Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Benjamim Fernandez had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 57 minutes into the game, Frédson Cruz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EC Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ipane AD the free kick. A collision led to EC Salvador getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Frédson Cruz hit a great ball. Tony Mangueira's late challenge caught a Ipane AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tony Mangueira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, EC Salvador's Tony Mangueira got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ipane AD's zone, Tony Mangueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Medeiros came out of the goal and Tony Mangueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Frédson Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ipane AD's zone, Frédson Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Medeiros came out of the goal and Frédson Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Frédson Cruz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alberto Medeiros. That made the score 1-4 in the 75 minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Frédson Cruz notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Ipane AD's Alberto Medeiros. Alberto Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 86 played minutes EC Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Hermínio de Alcântara. Hermínio de Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Alberto Medeiros made a huge save. EC Salvador's Hugo Vianna got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Frédson Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tony Mangueira in the 94th minute. Mathias Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomé de Souza in the 95th minute of play. EC Salvador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
