Fabiano Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesinha Faria having to interfere. Cesinha Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chico Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Pernas de Pau FC's Kléberson Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tales Campidelis in the 15th minute of play. Norberto Soares struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Kléberson Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fioduardo FC. The supporters of Fioduardo FC booed when Pernas de Pau FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frédson Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cesinha Faria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chico Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Roberto de Godoy hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Pernas de Pau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Queiroz came free, but Kléberson Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fioduardo FC's goalkeeper Cesinha Faria, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frédson Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Tales Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fioduardo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tales Campidelis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kléberson Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cesinha Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Montenegro in the 45th minute of play. Cesinha Faria didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 47th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Fioduardo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tales Campidelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Tales Campidelis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kléberson Pinheiro was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. A collision led to Fioduardo FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Dudu do Vale hit a great ball. Fabiano Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Tales Campidelis came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Fioduardo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tales Campidelis couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chico Montenegro in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesinha Faria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 78 minutes into the game, Frédson Mesquita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pernas de Pau FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fioduardo FC the free kick. A collision led to Pernas de Pau FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play.
