After some careless play in the Nacamura SS defense, Herbert Mitus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frédson Zonta. The Nacamura SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frédson Zonta should have stopped the shot. 11 minutes into the match, Nacamura SS's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Salinas came free, but Frédson Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Mitus in the 15th minute of play forced Nacamura SS's goalkeeper Frédson Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Herbert Mitus notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Nacamura SS's Frédson Zonta. Frédson Zonta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 19th match minute, Desportivo Carioca F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léo Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. Esteban Salinas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Herbert Mitus came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Desportivo Carioca F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herbert Mitus couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Nacamura SS booed when Desportivo Carioca F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s Durvalino Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto de Medeiros in the 34th minute of play. Esteban Salinas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédson Zonta having to interfere. Esteban Salinas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Frédson Zonta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Herbert Mitus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Flavinho de Andrade's late challenge caught a Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flavinho de Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, Nacamura SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavinho de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. When Patrick Freitas fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s protests and gave Patrick Freitas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Desportivo Carioca F.C. getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Patrick Freitas hit a great ball. Herbert Mitus might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frédson Zonta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herbert Mitus ran back to his position shaking his head. If Herbert Mitus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Nacamura SS's zone, Esteban Salinas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson Zonta came out of the goal and Esteban Salinas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frédson Zonta was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Esteban Salinas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Esteban Salinas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Frédson Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herbert Mitus in the 72nd minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, one of Desportivo Carioca F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Frédson Zonta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Desportivo Carioca F.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
