Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Caio Sá got the match started through his kick off. Caio Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 minutes, Lúcio Senna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Funis and the Maioba players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes Funis got a freekick which was hit by Lúcio Senna. When Alberto Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Maioba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Pimenta couldn't finish the play. Caio Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gil Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Serginho Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Alberto Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maioba's Alberto Pimenta got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 35 minutes, Alberto Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maioba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Pimenta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th match minute, Funis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Bueno to maneuver through the defense. Ernesto Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Pimenta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gil Saraiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio Sá in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alberto Pimenta to strike the kick off in the second half. Claudinei Zilles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 53 played minutes Maioba got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Pimenta. 55 minutes into the game, Andrézinho Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maioba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Funis the free kick. A collision led to Maioba getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Andrézinho Trigo hit a great ball. Claudinei Zilles's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Gil Saraiva skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Maioba's Gil Saraiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Maioba from getting a goal against them. If Antônio Carlos Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ernesto Rosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Funis's zone, Alberto Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Rosa came out of the goal and Alberto Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Claudinei Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. In the 79th minute, Duda de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Maioba's zone, Caio Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Saraiva came out of the goal and Caio Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vicente Bueno might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gil Saraiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vicente Bueno ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 87th minute, Funis's Caio Sá dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Duda de Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duda de Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 91st match minute, Maioba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duda de Brito to maneuver through the defense. Claudinei Zilles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Saraiva having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Funis had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
