A very good chance. Hernani Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pinho having to interfere. In the 8th minute of the match, Hernani Félix tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José Pinho saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. José Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Hernani Félix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Pinho made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Tony Teixeira sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 18 minutes, Tony Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Providencia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tony Teixeira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 20 in the game by Tony Teixeira from a close distance when the talented José Pinho managed to make a qualified save. Destero's players were relieved. When Tony Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Providencia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tony Teixeira couldn't finish the play. If Hernani Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Destero's José Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Destero from getting a goal against them. 31 minutes in the game, Hernani Félix fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without José Pinho having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Destero's zone, Hernani Félix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pinho came out of the goal and Hernani Félix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 34 minutes, Hernani Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Providencia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hernani Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Tony Teixeira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Pinho. Destero's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tony Teixeira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 42 minutes into the match, Destero's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Félix came free, but José Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Providencia booed when Destero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Destero getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Nilson Valle hit a great ball. The audience held their breath when Edu da Mata in the 49th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the José Pinho's left hand side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Guilherme Montenegro made a kick off. Enio Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio Zanette in the 59th minute. After 67th play minutes Tony Teixeira shot 2-0, a short shot which went by José Pinho and just under the crossbar into goal. José Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. José Pinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tony Teixeira went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 79 minutes, Hernani Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Providencia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hernani Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Tony Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Providencia's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Providencia's Hernani Félix got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 83 minutes into the game, one of Destero:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Enio Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio Zanette in the 89th minute. Tony Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. José Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enio Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Guilherme Montenegro in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Tony Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There was no doubt that Providencia were the better team. Providencia's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
