Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Cerobas EC's Agenor Pitta started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adhemar Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 3rd minute, Jefferson Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute, Agenor Pitta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marquinhos Vinhas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Afonso Loureiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás da Mata having to interfere. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cerobas EC's goalkeeper Tomás da Mata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Afonso Loureiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tomás da Mata. The goal made the score 1-1. Afonso Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Tomás da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute Clemente Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marquinhos Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agenor Pitta in the 40th minute of play forced República Rio-Grandense's goalkeeper Marquinhos Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marquinhos Vinhas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agenor Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clemente Peres in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marquinhos Vinhas saved República Rio-Grandense from getting behind. Clemente Peres might have been able to make a better finish in the 49th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marquinhos Vinhas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clemente Peres ran back to his position shaking his head.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso Loureiro to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Meira in the 54th minute of play forced Cerobas EC's goalkeeper Tomás da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, República Rio-Grandense's Afonso Loureiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás da Mata narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cerobas EC's Adhemar Gaúcho got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Pedrão Severo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomás da Mata. Cerobas EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Afonso Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Cerobas EC defense, Luís Fabiano Meira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás da Mata. The Cerobas EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás da Mata should have stopped the shot. If Agenor Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marquinhos Vinhas came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Cerobas EC's Clemente Peres. But to his dismay, Clemente Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Adhemar Gaúcho hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The attack was good, but when Luís Fabiano Meira in the 94th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. República Rio-Grandense's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
