Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Oriental's Zé Augusto Leme started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Afonso Loureiro made a precise shot to the right of Marcus Alagoano. Oriental's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Marquinhos Vinhas acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 7th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vivaldo Albuquerque. Pedrão Severo hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Marcus Alagoano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Loureiro in the 22nd minute of play. Luís Fabiano Meira scored 0-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcus Alagoano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jefferson Martins might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcus Alagoano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jefferson Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd minute, Afonso Loureiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The República Rio-Grandense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. If Afonso Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Augusto Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Marquinhos Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

República Rio-Grandense's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 54th minute of the game, when Pedrão Severo after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Oriental's goal. Pedrão Severo was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. After some careless play in the Oriental defense, Luís Fabiano Meira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcus Alagoano. The Oriental fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcus Alagoano should have stopped the shot. Afonso Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Alagoano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Fabiano Meira in the 63rd minute. Kiko de Toledo struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Marquinhos Vinhas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oriental. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Fabiano Meira got free with Marcus Alagoano in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kiko de Toledo in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marquinhos Vinhas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When República Rio-Grandense's Afonso Loureiro in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Oriental's goalie prevented a goal. A hard shot 75 in the game by Luís Fabiano Meira from a close distance when the talented Marcus Alagoano managed to make a qualified save. Oriental's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Oriental's Guilherme Antunes got a free kick in the 77th minute. Luís Fabiano Meira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Marcus Alagoano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Oriental's zone, Afonso Loureiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Alagoano came out of the goal and Afonso Loureiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. República Rio-Grandense's Afonso Loureiro got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oriental's Marcus Alagoano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Oriental from getting a goal against them. The Oriental fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. República Rio-Grandense were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
