Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eliseu Pinheiro started the match with the kick off. Ortigeira SS's Joel Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chiquinho Vander in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Atlético Universitário booed when Ortigeira SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Geovani Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Universitário's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovani Ferreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Dracena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celso de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Maurício Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurício Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 13thth minute of the game Eliseu Pinheiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Universitário's Maurício Vinhas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Ortigeira SS's goalkeeper Joel Dracena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geovani Ferreira. Dário Monteiro hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The supporters of Atlético Universitário booed when Ortigeira SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Chiquinho Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 23 played minutes Ortigeira SS got a freekick which was hit by Roger Dantas. After 26 played minutes Atlético Universitário got a freekick which was hit by Rubinho Branco. Ademar Cearense charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ademar Cearense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ortigeira SS's Ademar Cearense got a free kick in the 28th minute. Eliseu Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Maurício Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Roger Dantas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 33 minutes had been played. After 34 played minutes Ortigeira SS got a freekick which was hit by Roger Dantas. Chiquinho Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Dracena having to interfere. Chiquinho Vander struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Joel Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Universitário. Ortigeira SS's Joel Dracena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ortigeira SS from getting a goal against them. Joel Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Vander in the 45th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Ulisses Valladares could shoot a difficult shot in the 48th minute, which Joel Dracena however easily saved by the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chiquinho Vander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chiquinho Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Dracena having to interfere. 56 minutes into the game, Atlético Universitário's Chiquinho Vander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Dracena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Geovani Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ortigeira SS defense, Geovani Ferreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Dracena. The Ortigeira SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Dracena should have stopped the shot. In the 69th minute, Ademar Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Geovani Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovani Ferreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geovani Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Geovani Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseu Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Atlético Universitário's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseu Pinheiro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th minute, Chiquinho Vander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chiquinho Vander struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Joel Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Universitário. Geovani Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Joel Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Atlético Universitário had played much better football throughout.
