The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Túlio Romero's late challenge caught a Ituassu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Túlio Romero helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Lagamar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Túlio Romero to maneuver through the defense. Ronaldo Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aílton de Queiroz in the 22nd minute of play. Orlando Dias scored 1-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldo Rossi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Edgard Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ituassu's José Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Neves in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Ituassu's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Neves came free, but José Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aílton de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Netto during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Lagamar's Paulo Netto got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The audience was convinced that David Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Prata was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. If David Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When David Soares came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Lagamar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Soares couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aílton de Queiroz made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Lagamar's Paulo Netto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Ituassu's José Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Neves in the 60th minute of play. José Prata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Neves in the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th match minute, Lagamar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Netto to maneuver through the defense. Aílton de Queiroz might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronaldo Rossi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aílton de Queiroz ran back to his position shaking his head. Edgard Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldo Rossi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aílton de Queiroz's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. A hard shot 95 in the game by David Soares from a close distance when the talented José Prata managed to make a qualified save. Ituassu's players were relieved.
