After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Murillo Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trovão F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Murillo Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nestor Dias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the game, Dedê Madureira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nestor Dias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nestor Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murillo Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Júlio Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dedê Madureira hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. When Dedê Madureira got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Trovão F.C. After having played for 21 minutes, Dedê Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trovão F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedê Madureira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jean Pitta came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Fenix Negra Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jean Pitta couldn't finish the play. Tony Zonta's late challenge caught a Trovão F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tony Zonta helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Fenix Negra Fc getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Tony Zonta hit a great ball. Nilson Brasil took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nestor Dias. Fenix Negra Fc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Trovão F.C's Dedê Madureira got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 39 played minutes Trovão F.C got a freekick which was hit by Dedê Madureira. In the 42nd minute, Beto Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Fenix Negra Fc defense, Dedê Madureira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Dias. The Fenix Negra Fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Dias should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dedê Madureira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hilario Evis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Pitta, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 58th minute Jean Pitta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Evis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Nestor Dias managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Trovão F.C's Dedê Madureira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Fenix Negra Fc's Nestor Dias got control of the ball when Nilson Brasil tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Trovão F.C's Nestor Dias threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dedê Madureira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 71st match minute, Trovão F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitório Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. The Fenix Negra Fc players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
