When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonardo de Azevedo made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo de Azevedo in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sidnei Mota prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Nando Miranda fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itumbiarense's protests and gave Nando Miranda a yellow card for diving instead. Nando Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Luis Mejía made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raphael Cordeiro in the 61st minute of play. In the 65th minute, Zé Pedro Souza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itumbiarense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Itumbiarense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esperança Football Club the free kick. In the 74th minute, one of Itumbiarense:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Itumbiarense. The goalkeeper, Sidnei Mota, was totally fooled by Esperança Football Club's Vânderson Zonta, who 75 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Leonardo de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leonardo de Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sidnei Mota read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Leonardo de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Zé Pedro Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
