Renato da Rocha was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 9th minute. Dezessete AD's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Durvalino Fantini made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Renato da Rocha sent off a good shot on target. Renato da Rocha struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Durvalino Fantini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dezessete AD. When Dezessete AD's Juninho Munhoz in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Leões's goalie prevented a goal. Dezessete AD's Oscar Paulista couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Leões. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Munhoz in the 30th minute of play forced FC Leões's goalkeeper Durvalino Fantini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renato da Rocha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Durvalino Fantini skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Durvalino Fantini managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Dezessete AD's Renato da Rocha fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Renato da Rocha kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 36thth minute. Though ot was a great shot FC Leões's keeper Durvalino Fantini was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. In the 36th minute, José Maria de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Durvalino Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Munhoz in the 37th minute of play. Renato da Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Durvalino Fantini made a huge save. Juninho Munhoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Durvalino Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmyr Porto to make the kick off. Renato da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Fantini having to interfere. With a little luck, Dezessete AD's Emanuel Velasco got control of the ball when Álvaro Vale tried to sneak it across the goal line. Durvalino Fantini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juninho Munhoz went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 66 minutes into the game, Dezessete AD's Renato da Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Durvalino Fantini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Vânderson Correia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Durvalino Fantini. FC Leões's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 77 minutes, Juninho Munhoz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dezessete AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juninho Munhoz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Durvalino Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Munhoz in the 83rd minute of play. If Renato da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Walmyr Porto came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the FC Leões fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmyr Porto couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dezessete AD fully deserved thier win.
