Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Custódio Brodel took the kick off in the first half of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Custódio Brodel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aírton Mineiro, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC RUBRO NEGRO's zone, Marcel Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aírton Mineiro came out of the goal and Marcel Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Leonardo's Custódio Brodel in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC RUBRO NEGRO's goalie prevented a goal. FC RUBRO NEGRO's Conrado Senna got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Conrado Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 28 in the game by Marcel Sá from a close distance when the talented Aírton Mineiro managed to make a qualified save. FC RUBRO NEGRO's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Cerezo in the 33rd minute of play forced Leonardo's goalkeeper Moisés Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Zé Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moisés Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Aírton Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Custódio Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC RUBRO NEGRO's goalkeeper Aírton Mineiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Conrado Senna made the kick off in the second half. FC RUBRO NEGRO's Aírton Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Custódio Brodel in the 52nd minute of play. Marcel Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Aírton Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Leonardo booed when FC RUBRO NEGRO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Custódio Brodel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the FC RUBRO NEGRO defense, Custódio Brodel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aírton Mineiro. The FC RUBRO NEGRO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aírton Mineiro should have stopped the shot. After 74 played minutes FC RUBRO NEGRO got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Berger. After a defensive mix-up in FC RUBRO NEGRO's zone, Custódio Brodel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aírton Mineiro came out of the goal and Custódio Brodel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aírton Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Custódio Brodel in the 85th minute of the match. Marcel Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonardo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC RUBRO NEGRO for a fine match.
