Clube Do Penedo's Danilo Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Cerezo in the 11th minute of play. Alexandre Cerezo hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Joaquim Zanette made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Isaltino Massa sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Clube Do Penedo booed when Queixada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Erasmo Leal fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Joaquim Zanette, passed just outside the right post. Joaquim Zanette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Leal in the 44th minute of the match. After 48 played minutes Queixada got a freekick which was hit by Dito Rossi.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erasmo Leal made a kick off. Tião Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience was convinced that Erasmo Leal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquim Zanette was relentless in the 78th minute of the game.
