Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Rinconada booed when Empatacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes in the game Richard Barreto got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Marcelinho Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Dalmo Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelinho Silva struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Dalmo Pirani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rinconada. Dalmo Pirani acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 20th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Luís Eduardo Leal. Edson Paes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Rinconada getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Lucas Carvalho hit a great ball. Virgílio Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Pitta in the 37th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes Rinconada got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson Jacinto. Empatacao's Ismael Cardoso got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelinho Silva was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 45 minutes, Gerson Arósio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Empatacao and the Rinconada players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th minute, Gerson Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edson Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Dalmo Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Dalmo Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelinho Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Ronaldo Pitta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Empatacao's zone, Marcelinho Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dalmo Pirani came out of the goal and Marcelinho Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ismael Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldo Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Maranhense having to interfere. If Ismael Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Empatacao's Ronaldo Pitta got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 80 minutes into the match, Rinconada's goalkeeper Virgílio Maranhense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ismael Cardoso. Ademar Carneiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Virgílio Maranhense having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edson Paes in the 84th minute of play forced Empatacao's goalkeeper Dalmo Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Rinconada's Marcelinho Silva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dalmo Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th play minute Ismael Cardoso came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Virgílio Maranhense. 0-1. In the 97th minute, Ademar Carneiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Empatacao players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
