The audience thought a goal was coming when Célio Vinhas got free with Betinho Passos in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bruninho Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Romero having to interfere. Betinho Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Batista in the 14th minute of play. Aílton Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aleandro Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Betinho Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruninho Trigo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo's zone, Célio Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betinho Passos came out of the goal and Célio Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruninho Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Romero having to interfere. Betinho Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruninho Trigo to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Ian Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Betinho Passos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Célio Vinhas went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Osvaldinho Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute, Ian Batista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute Célio Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betinho Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Célio Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Trapriche SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Célio Vinhas couldn't finish the play. Trapriche SS's Aílton Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Trapriche SS from getting a goal against them. Ian Batista scored 2-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Betinho Passos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Betinho Passos came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Trapriche SS's Ian Batista. But to his dismay, Ian Batista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. When the referee blew the final whistle, Trapriche SS could leave the field as winners, despite Flamengo having more of the ball for most of the match.
