In the 6th match minute, Witmarsun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zézinho Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Veiga made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Zé Pedro Paraíba sent off a good shot on target. Witmarsun's Jonathan Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Souto in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Witmarsun's goalkeeper Jonathan Veiga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Pedro Paraíba. 16 minutes into the match, Gergelim SS's goal looked a bit too open when Zacarias Magalhães came free, but Mané Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gergelim SS's zone, Vivaldo Peixoto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mané Amaral came out of the goal and Vivaldo Peixoto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademar Souto in the 22nd minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Zé Pedro Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gergelim SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Pedro Paraíba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th minute Zacarias Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st match minute, Gergelim SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kiko Cerezo to maneuver through the defense. Ademar Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Witmarsun getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Eurico Vinhas hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademar Souto in the 37th minute of play forced Witmarsun's goalkeeper Jonathan Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademar Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ademar Souto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Veiga came out and tried to block the shot, but Ademar Souto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 43rd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zacarias Magalhães made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Witmarsun's goal looked a bit too open when Ademar Souto came free, but Jonathan Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Gergelim SS's Fernandão Meira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Veiga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Zé Pedro Paraíba might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Veiga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Pedro Paraíba ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademar Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Jonathan Veiga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ademar Souto went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 61st match minute, Gergelim SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid de Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. If Vivaldo Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Zacarias Magalhães dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mané Amaral, 3-1. Vivaldo Peixoto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Mané Amaral made a huge save. Jonathan Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro Paraíba in the 71st minute of the match. Mané Amaral was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Zacarias Magalhães capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zacarias Magalhães really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. In the 76th minute Gabriel Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ademar Souto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Veiga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Fernandez during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 85th minute, Zé Pedro Paraíba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Gergelim SS's Ademar Souto in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Witmarsun's goalie prevented a goal. Zé Pedro Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jonathan Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Witmarsun's Jonathan Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Souto in the 90th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ademar Souto in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Veiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 99 minutes had been played when some careless play by Witmarsun's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Betinho Andrade was slow to take the kick. During this time Gergelim SS's players had a chance to rest. Kiko Cerezo was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Witmarsun players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gergelim SS.
