Paranapanema's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fausto de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Fernando Berger's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. After a rather tough play, Carnaubais AD's Agenor França got a free kick in the 10th minute. The audience held their breath when Olívio Figueiredo in the 12th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Carlos Veiga's left hand side. 13 minutes into the match, Teodoro Ramalho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Veiga. Carnaubais AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teodoro Ramalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Pedrão Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fernando Berger charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fernando Berger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Paranapanema getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Luís Fernando Berger hit a great ball. Fausto de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Augusto de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Carlos Veiga came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Paranapanema's André Ribeiro. But to his dismay, André Ribeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Juvenal Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 played minutes Carnaubais AD got a freekick which was hit by Pedrão Penha. After having played for 35 minutes, Luís Fernando Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paranapanema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fernando Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Carlos Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the game, João Augusto de Godoy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paranapanema's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carnaubais AD the free kick. Juvenal Favoretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Vander having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Fernando Berger to make the kick off. With a little luck, Carnaubais AD's Carlos Veiga got control of the ball when Luís Fernando Berger tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Luís Fernando Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, João Augusto de Godoy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Carnaubais AD's zone, Luís Fernando Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Veiga came out of the goal and Luís Fernando Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paranapanema's Ciro Alcântara shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 68th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Carlos Veiga but with some difficulty. Fausto de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Veiga having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Carnaubais AD's zone, André Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Veiga came out of the goal and André Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th minute, João Augusto de Godoy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luís Fernando Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fausto de Carvalho got free with Carlos Veiga in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sebastião Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Favoretto in the 85th minute of play. If Fausto de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fernando Berger who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Carlos Veiga when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carnaubais AD's Carlos Veiga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Carnaubais AD from getting a goal against them. João Augusto de Godoy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paranapanema's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
