Marquinhos Terra started the match with the kick off. Marquinhos Terra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of Amadeu Cruz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Geovânio da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geovânio da Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Amadeu Cruz made a huge save. The supporters of Chapadinha booed when Verava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Verava's goalkeeper Amadeu Cruz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geovânio da Costa. In the 14th match minute, Verava was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Geovanni Berger struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Doriva Cavalcante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verava. Doriva Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aílton Montenegro in the 26th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Amadeu Cruz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Amadeu Cruz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Giovanni Cearense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovânio da Costa got free with Amadeu Cruz in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Verava booed when Chapadinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marquinhos Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovanni Berger to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Alfredo Carvalho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Doriva Cavalcante. The goal made the score 1-1. Doriva Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanni Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geovânio da Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amadeu Cruz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Verava's Marcel da Mata got a free kick in the 69th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Chapadinha's goalkeeper Doriva Cavalcante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aílton Montenegro. Doriva Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovanni Berger in the 73rd minute of the match. If Marquinhos Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Chapadinha fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Chapadinha's Marquinhos Terra looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 87 minutes into the match, Verava's goal looked a bit too open when Marquinhos Terra came free, but Amadeu Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chapadinha were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Verava for a fine match.
